Class IV Laser Therapy for dogs

What it is
Class IV laser therapy uses focused light energy to stimulate activity in the cells below the skin, without breaking it.
Light at particular wavelengths passes through the coat and skin and is absorbed by the tissue underneath, where it prompts cellular activity. Nothing is cut, nothing is injected, and there is no sedation. Your dog lies still and, as far as they are concerned, very little is happening.
Class IV refers to the power of the laser, which is what lets it reach deeper tissue than the lower-powered devices sold for home use. That power is also why it is done properly, with eye protection and a trained operator, rather than bought online.
It is not veterinary treatment and it is not a diagnosis. It supports recovery alongside your vet’s care.

Laser therapy is used to support comfort and recovery. It is not a cure and does not replace veterinary treatment — these are the areas it is aimed at:

Supports tissue repair and cell growth as the body works through recovery.
Wounds and nerves
Used to support wound healing and nerve recovery, including after surgery.

What happens
What a session actually looks like.
Everyone in the room wears protective goggles, your dog included — that is the one part that looks unusual, and most dogs accept it within a minute. I work the handpiece slowly over the area being treated. There is no noise beyond the unit itself, and no sensation your dog will object to; a mild warmth at most.
Sessions are unhurried and choice-led, exactly as the hands-on work is. Your dog can shift position or move away, and we work around them. Laser is often used in the same visit as Galen Myotherapy rather than instead of it — which of the two does more of the work depends entirely on what is going on.
The first appointment is a full consultation: history, photographs and video, the comfort scale, the paperwork, and a treatment plan tailored to your dog, with a twenty-minute session on the day.
Where I come to
In your dog’s own home.
I treat dogs at home across the corridor between Estepona and Sotogrande — including La Duquesa, Sabinillas, Manilva and Casares. Travel within 15 km of La Duquesa is included in the price; beyond that it is €1 per kilometre.
Bringing the laser to the dog rather than the dog to the laser removes the car journey and the waiting room, which for a sore or anxious dog is most of the stress of the appointment.
What it costs

€70 — the first visit. A full consultation in your home, including a twenty-minute session on the day, and travel within 15 km of La Duquesa.
€50–70 — each treatment after. What a treatment costs depends on how long your dog needs and how big they are, and I will talk it through with you before anything is booked in. Block bookings come with a discount.
All prices include IVA. The same rates cover hands-on myotherapy and laser — you are booking a session, not a menu of add-ons.

I am not a veterinary surgeon, and this is not veterinary care.
I do not diagnose, and I do not treat conditions your vet has not seen. Laser therapy complements veterinary treatment and never replaces it. If your dog is unwell, in acute pain, or something has changed suddenly, please see your vet first.
There are cases where laser is not appropriate — over a known or suspected tumour, over the pregnant uterus, or directly on the eye — so please mention anything relevant before your session.

What is Class IV laser therapy for dogs?
