Who is responsible for your information

Positive Animal Wellbeing, based in La Duquesa, Málaga, Spain, is the data controller for the information described on this page. For anything to do with your data, contact christine@pawellbeing.com.

What we collect, and only what we collect

When you use the contact form on the home page, we receive the four things you type into it:

• your name
• your email address
• your dog's name
• whatever you write in the message box

Nothing else is requested and nothing else is stored. There is no account to create, no newsletter sign-up and no payment taken through this website.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and show which pages people actually read. It is the only tracking of any kind here, and it is switched off until you allow it.

When you first arrive you will see a small banner asking. Until you answer, and for the whole of your visit if you decline, Google Analytics stores nothing on your device and sends no measurements. That is not a courtesy: under Spanish law (LSSI article 22.2) analytics cookies require your consent first, and this site is built to work that way rather than to ask forgiveness afterwards.

If you allow it, Google Analytics sets cookies and records which pages you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what browser and device you used, and how you arrived. It does not know your name, and we never link it to anything you send through the contact form.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie — a cookie recording that you did not want cookies is a silly thing to have to explain. To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask again.

When something breaks

Separately from analytics, this site watches for its own faults using Sentry. If a script fails — a button that stops working, a page that will not load properly — a report is sent describing what went wrong: the error message, the page it happened on, and which browser and operating system you were using.

This one is not behind the banner, and you should know why. It is not tracking: it stores nothing on your device, sets no cookie, gives you no identifier and sends nothing at all unless something actually goes wrong. Your IP address is deliberately not collected, and session recording — which would capture your screen — is switched off. What is left is a fault report about the website, not a record of you, and it is what makes a broken page fixable rather than something we find out about months later.

The reports are held in Sentry's European servers, so this data does not leave the EU. If you would still rather not send them, blocking the request in your browser or an extension is entirely effective and the site works exactly as before.

What this site still does not do

• No advertising. Your information is never sold, rented or shared for marketing, and there are no advertising cookies. Google's advertising features are explicitly switched off.
• No profiling. Nothing here makes automated decisions about you.
• No session recording. Nothing here replays your screen, your mouse or your keystrokes. Sentry offers that feature; it is switched off.
• No other trackers. No Meta pixel, no heatmap tool, no third-party fonts, and no third-party scripts at all — the analytics and error-monitoring code named above is either loaded only after you consent, or served from this site itself.

The companies that necessarily see something

A website cannot exist without a host, and honesty means naming the parties involved:

• Netlify hosts this site and handles the contact form. Netlify keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address and browser type, and stores form submissions so they can be forwarded on. Netlify acts as our processor under a data processing agreement.
• Google receives analytics measurements, but only if you allow them. Google acts as our processor for that data, and transfers outside the EU are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
• Sentry receives a fault report when something on the site breaks, as described above. Sentry acts as our processor under a data processing agreement, and the reports are stored in its European region.
• Your email provider and ours carry any message you send, as with any email.

The typefaces and scripts this site uses are served from this site itself, not from Google Fonts or anyone else's CDN. Loading a page therefore makes no request to any third party at all: not to Google unless you have allowed analytics, and not to Sentry unless something on the page actually fails.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Under Article 6 of the UK and EU GDPR, we rely on:

• Your consent, given by choosing to send the form, for the initial enquiry.
• Performance of a contract once you book, for the details needed to arrange and deliver treatment.
• Legitimate interests for keeping treatment records, so your dog's history is available at the next session.
• Your consent, given through the banner, for analytics. This one you can withdraw as easily as you gave it, and withdrawing it stops all measurement immediately.
• Legitimate interests for the error monitoring described above — keeping this site working, and knowing when it is not. It carries no identifier and no personal data, which is what keeps that interest from overriding yours.

You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us, and we will stop.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted within twelve months. Treatment records for dogs we have seen are kept for as long as we are treating them and for six years afterwards, which is the period during which a professional record may reasonably be needed. Anything held beyond that is deleted.

Photographs and video

Treatment often involves taking photographs or short videos of your dog, so that changes in posture and movement can be compared between sessions. These are for clinical use. Nothing is published on this website or on social media without asking you first, separately, and saying no costs you nothing.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to us holding it at all. Email christine@pawellbeing.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es), or to the supervisory authority in your own country.

Children

This site is aimed at dog owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, by design.
